HAMILTON is the story of America’s Founding Father Alexander Hamilton, an immigrant from the West Indies who became George Washington’s right-hand man during the Revolutionary War and was the new nation’s first Treasury Secretary. Featuring a score that blends hip-hop, jazz, blues, rap, R&B, and Broadway, HAMILTON is the story of America then, told by America now.
Hamilton has book, music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, is directed by Thomas Kail, with choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler and musical supervision and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire and is based on Ron Chernow's biography of Alexander Hamilton.
Winner of 11 Tony Awards including Best Musical, the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the 2016 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album.
The HAMILTON musical, based on the life of Founding Father Alexander Hamilton has simply taken the world by storm. The epic sung-through musical details the life of the first Secretary of the Treasury in exquisite fashion and you’ll be humming the songs for days on end. If you’ve never read about the American Revolution and the founding of the United States, buckle up for a musical history lesson you’ll never forget. Throughout Hamilton, you’ll meet all the important players including George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and James Madison as they create a government and country. Not everyone is best pleased though, with King George III making appearances for a hilarious British vs. American rivalry. Once you’ve seen Hamilton in London, you’ll never look at America the same way again.
HAMILTON has become a cultural phenomenon of the 21st century. Its creator, Lin-Manuel Miranda has been catapulted to superstardom thanks to playing the title role on Broadway. It’s also made stars of its original West End cast too, including Giles Terera and Jamael Westman. So go back in time to 18th-century America and witness the musical theatre marvel that is HAMILTON.
